BATCC Mobile App — Privacy Policy

The Bay Area Tamil Catholic Community ("BATCC", "we", "us") provides the BATCC mobile app to help our community stay connected — daily scripture links, Mass information, announcements, events, and simple parish forms. This policy explains what information the app collects and how we use it.

Information We Collect

You can browse everything in the app without creating an account. We collect information only when you choose to submit a form:

• Prayer Requests: your name and the prayer text you write.

• Mass Intentions: your name, email address, phone number, the Mass date, and your intention details.

• Weekly Rosary Booking: your family name, the date you choose, and any comments you add.

The app also creates an anonymous session identifier on your device so your submissions can be processed. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity and is deleted when you remove the app.

What We Do NOT Do

• No advertising, and no advertising networks.

• No analytics or behavioral tracking SDKs.

• No sale, rental, or sharing of your information with third parties for their own purposes.

• No collection of your location, contacts, photos, or microphone.

How We Use Your Information

Submitted information is used solely to serve the parish purpose of each form: praying for your requests, scheduling Mass intentions, and coordinating Rosary hosting. Information is visible only to authorized BATCC administrators.

Where Your Information Is Stored

Submissions are stored securely with our backend provider, Supabase, with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted by database-level security rules so that only authorized BATCC administrators can view submissions.

Children's Privacy

The BATCC app is intended for use by adults. Forms are designed to be submitted by adults; the app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a future feature involves signing up children for parish activities (for example, Rosary decades at Mass), a parent or guardian submits on the child's behalf, and this policy will be updated accordingly.

Your Rights (Including California Residents)

You may request, at any time:

• a copy of the information you submitted through the app;

• correction of inaccurate information; or

• deletion of your submissions.

To make a request, email info.batcc@gmail.com and describe the submission (form type and approximate date). An administrator will act on your request promptly. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), so there is nothing to opt out of.

External Links

The app links to external websites (such as Tamil Catholic Daily, our parish website, and social media). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Changes to This Policy

If we add features that change what we collect, we will update this policy and the effective date above before those features are released.
